Liquor policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

English is the controlling legal version.

This policy explains how Potato Mart sells and supplies liquor under its Victorian liquor licence, who may buy it, and what happens at delivery and pickup. It is general information, not legal advice.

Our licence

Potato Mart Pty Ltd holds Victorian liquor licence number 36307044 and sells packaged liquor online under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic). Liquor is supplied only in accordance with the conditions of that licence.

Who can buy liquor

Liquor can only be purchased by customers aged 18 or over. Customers under 18 may still create an account and shop for other products.

The date of birth on your account is used to check eligibility: liquor cannot be added to the cart of a customer who is under 18 or has not added a date of birth.

ID checks at delivery and pickup

We may ask for photo ID when liquor is delivered or collected. If the person receiving the order cannot show acceptable proof that they are 18 or over, or appears to be intoxicated, the liquor will not be handed over and the order may be cancelled or returned.

Responsible service

We support the responsible service of alcohol. We will refuse to supply liquor to anyone under 18, to anyone who is intoxicated, and to anyone we reasonably believe is buying liquor for a minor or an intoxicated person.

Penalties

Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 it is an offence;

  • To supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years (Penalty exceeds $25,000)
  • For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase or receive liquor (Penalty exceeds $1,000)

Orders and cancellations

We may refuse, limit, cancel, or refund a liquor order where age, identity, delivery, licensing, or legal requirements are not met, or where delivery cannot be completed to an eligible adult.
